Where It All Began
Some love stories begin quietly, in the middle of everything. Amber and Rachael found each other at the Brooklyn Museum, right before the world paused. They were strangers in the same room, drawn together by art and something neither of them could quite name yet. And when the world slowed down, what they had only grew clearer, more certain, more theirs.
By the time March 21st arrived, there was no question. This was always where they were headed.
Their wedding weekend at SoundView Greenport on the North Fork of Long Island was the fullest expression of who they are together: warm, intentional, and deeply generous with their love.
The Vision: A Whole Weekend of Welcome
From the very first planning conversation, one thing was at the heart of every decision Amber and Rachael made: their people. Not just for the wedding day itself, but for the entire weekend. Every detail, every touchpoint, every moment in between was thoughtfully shaped around one simple desire. They wanted every single guest to feel genuinely welcomed and deeply loved from the moment the celebration began.
This shaped everything, from the weekend accommodations at SoundView Greenport, which kept their closest family and friends together under one roof, to the way they curated the energy of each gathering throughout the weekend.
As their wedding planners, it was our role to take that vision and build the logistics around it so that their intention never got lost in the details. And one of our favorite moments to help them create was one that most couples would never think to do.
The Detail That Made the Room Stop
Instead of a traditional grand entrance where the couple is announced into a room full of waiting guests, Amber and Rachael chose something far more intentional. They were already inside when the reception doors opened. Waiting. Ready. And as the doors swung wide, they were the ones doing the welcoming, greeting their guests face to face as the room came alive around them.
It was one of the most quietly powerful moments we have ever had the privilege of helping to create. No fanfare needed. Just two people who love deeply, choosing to lead with that love in the most literal way possible.
That is who they are. And that is the kind of wedding weekend they gave everyone lucky enough to be there.
The Setting: SoundView Greenport
SoundView Greenport is one of the North Fork’s most beautiful waterfront properties, and it served as the perfect backdrop for a wedding weekend rooted in togetherness. With stunning views of the Long Island Sound, effortless coastal elegance, and the ability to host guests on-site at the hotel, it gave Amber and Rachael exactly what they were looking for: a space that felt like an escape, and a home away from home all at once.
The reception was held at Halyard at The Sound View, the venue’s stunning event space, where the aesthetic came together in a way that felt romantic, intimate, and completely them.
The Details
Every element of this wedding was chosen with care. From the florals by Luna Luxe Events to the custom cake by Sugar Sugar Custom Cakes, each detail told the same story: love is in the details, and no detail was too small to matter.
The Celebration
When the room came alive, it came alive fully. The joy in that space was the kind you can feel even through a photograph. A dance floor full of people who had been welcomed in by the couple themselves, who knew from the very first moment of the evening that they were exactly where they were supposed to be.
